📍 ABOUT LAKE TITICACA
Lake Titicaca sits at 3,800 meters above sea level on the
border of Peru and Bolivia. It is the largest lake in
South America by volume and the highest navigable lake
in the world.
For the Inca civilization Lake Titicaca was the most
sacred place in the Andes — the birthplace of the Sun
God Inti and the first Inca Manco Capac.
Today the lake is home to the Uros people who live on
floating islands made entirely of totora reeds.
