Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) is one of the most spectacular
natural wonders in Peru. Located at 5,020 meters above sea level,
its colorful stripes make it one of the most photographed
destinations in South America.
🌈 WHAT IS RAINBOW MOUNTAIN?
Rainbow Mountain, known locally as Vinicunca or Montaña de Colores,
is a geological wonder near Cusco. Its incredible rainbow colors
are caused by different minerals in the soil:
✔ Red — iron oxide
✔ Yellow — sulfur
✔ Green — copper
✔ Purple — manganese
✔ White — quartz
📍 LOCATION
Located 100km south of Cusco at 5,020 meters above sea level.
The hike starts at 4,300 meters.
⏰ ITINERARY
4:00am — Pickup from your hotel in Cusco
